Artist Of The Month
Kyle Park
Gandy Ink would like to thank Kyle Park for doing business with us since October of 2008. We are fortunate to have Kyle supporting the Gandy Ink name.
The Austin native has proved his musical capabilities on his powerful album, “Anywhere in Texas”. Park writes songs, sings, and plays guitar all while delivering an impressive sound. Park and his band have been in the studio recording and producing songs since 2006 for his first album, “Big Time”. His second album, “Anywhere in Texas,” features a dozen songs written and co-written by Park, including “Cold in Colorado,” “Don’t Look,” which placed on The Texas Music Chart, and “A Woman Like you,” which was co-written with Wade Bowen.
In April of 2010 Park released an EP of four new songs. Park believes that the music scene is changing. “Consistent touring deserves consistent recording, and that giving fans new music quickly is the main objective.” He plans to release four songs or more at a time during the next 12 months. These songs will become the foundation of his next full-length album, yet unnamed. Park’s reasoning for several EP’s throughout the year is to let his fans help choose the tracks on the next album. He wants to know what they think of the songs, and which songs they feel are “CD worthy.”
The band, composed of Kyle Park, Karl Schwoch, Will Armstrong, and Eric Lenington have really come together since recording “Big Time” and an early gig at Austin’s Broken Spoke music venue, where they opened for Asleep at the Wheel. Kyle Park and the guys have opened for and performed with acts such as: Clint Black, Tracy Lawrence, Mark Chestnutt, Gary Allan, Pat Green, Jack Ingram, Randy Rogers Band, and Eli Young Band. On July 4th, Kyle Park will be opening for Joe Nichols at the City of Baytown 4th of July Celebration. Also this month, Kyle Park will be playing at the 82nd Texas FFA Convention on July 13th in Corpus Christi.
Gandy Ink would like to congratulate Kyle Park on his success!
